Of the leading teams, Ferrari was the only one to use a one-stop strategy, which bore fruit and allowed Leclair to win first place. Leclair has won seven victories in his career, the first of which he won in his home country of Monaco.
The other two places on the podium were occupied by “McLaren” drivers Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris, the fourth was Leclair’s teammate Carlos Sainz Jr., the fifth finished Lewis Hamilton (“Mercedes”), and after him – the current champion and leader of the championships Max Verstappen (“Red Bull”).
George Russell (Mercedes) was in seventh place, Sergio Perez (Red Bull) was in eighth place, Alexander Albon (Williams) finished ninth, and Kevin Magnussen (Haas) was the last to reach the point.
Verstappen is the overall leader of the World Championship with 303 points, Norris is second with 241 points, Leclair is third with 217 points, and Piastre is fourth with 197 points.
