2NE1’s 15th anniversary solo concert continues to add more dates, proving the strong global fan base and influence they have.
According to YG Entertainment on the 2nd, 2NE1’s Japan tour ‘2024 2NE1 Concert WELCOME BACK’ sold out all tickets for the 2 Kobe and 2 Tokyo concerts. Thanks to the enthusiastic support of local fans, 2 additional concerts have been confirmed, one each in Kobe on November 29th and Tokyo on December 13th.
With this, 2NE1 will meet more fans with a total of 6 concerts, adding additional performances to their originally scheduled schedule at Kobe World Memorial Hall in Hyogo Prefecture on November 29-30 and December 1, and at Tokyo Ariake Arena on December 13-15.
2NE1 made a mark in K-pop history by setting various new records during their activities in Japan. They were the first foreign artist to have their debut album reach the top of the Oricon weekly album chart, and the two regular albums and three single albums they released after that also achieved significant results. The three tours they held in Japan were unusually large-scale for a foreign female artist at the time, and received a lot of attention from influential local media outlets.
2NE1’s return after 10 years was enough to make the fans in Japan excited. In fact, the ticket sales this time showed explosive demand, and fans who were unable to get tickets in time were flooding in with requests for additional performances and related inquiries. This is a glimpse into the unchanging interest and anticipation for these legendary K-pop girl groups in Japan.
The Seoul solo concert held before the Japan tour also showed overwhelming ticket power with additional shows selling out in addition to the previous two shows and the opening of limited-view seats. As it is a place where they can see 2NE1 on stage as a full group again, the response from fans at home and abroad is hot.
In order to meet the wishes of global fans, YG plans to further expand its tour schedule and continue the excitement by closely interacting with audiences in each country until next year.
Meanwhile, 2NE1 will be holding a ‘Welcome Back’ event at the Olympic Hall in Olympic Park, Seoul from October 4th to 6th for three days, firing off a spectacular fireworks to announce the return of the legendary girl group.
