With his mind all set on Juve-Roma, Thiago Motta enjoys the market moves of “his” Juventus in the transfer market. He does not want any distractions ahead of tomorrow night’s match at home against the Roma of his “great friend” Daniele De Rossi.

“The club has done a great job in the transfer market. We have signed strong players, with great talent, to complete an already good group. The three newcomers (Nico Gonzalez, Teun Koopmeiners, and Francisco Conceicao, ed.) have arrived with the right attitude and are all available, ready to play,” said the Juventus coach.
“Against Roma, it will be a nice match: we face a strong team. We must be ready for anything. We need to defend and move as a team, as always: that’s football. Plus, we play in front of our fans: the stadium will be full and we want to perform well,” added the black-and-white coach.
With De Rossi in the National Team
“De Rossi and I were together in the National Team. He was a great player and is now a great coach. It’s no coincidence that we are where we are now: me on a historic bench and him on that of his favorite team. I feel privileged, as I believe he does too,” continued Thiago Motta. “We have prepared well, with great enthusiasm, to give our best on the field tomorrow night. Tiago Djalò, Kostic, and Arthur are still with Juve. But now let’s stop talking about the transfer market, let’s focus only on the match against the Giallorossi”: the leader of Juve doesn’t want distractions and reiterates it several times.
“We are only on the third matchday. We try not to listen to the praise and to maintain our line and our attitude,” Thiago Motta said again. “The young players? It’s not my merit what they are doing. It’s all their merit and the teammates who have helped them in these early matchdays,” explained the Juve coach. Finally, regarding the lineup for tomorrow, he did not spoil anything: out are the injured Milik, Thuram, Weah, and Adzic.
The Roma? “A strong team”
“Tomorrow we will face a strong and certainly determined team. The stadium will be full, there will be a great atmosphere to play football. We have done good preparation, with enthusiasm, positive spirit, responsibility, and daily work to prepare ourselves at best for this match and to be ready for anything on the field. It will be a beautiful game.” So said Thiago Motta at the press conference preceding tomorrow’s match against Roma.
“We are only on the third. Daniele had a wonderful end of the season. I know him well, we were national teammates. Daniele faces the situation as he sees fit, even going against different opinions, as was my case when I was handed the number 10 jersey in the National Team. He made his judgment at that moment, even if he didn’t need to. I am grateful to him, in a moment of difficulty he tried to defend his teammate. Not tomorrow when we are opponents, but I wish him the best. Young players? It’s their merit, not mine. Even at this age, they show they can participate and play.
