The turning point in the Terento mystery: no trace of a presumed killer – News

BOLZANO. The turning point in the Terento mystery was expected, and the turning point has arrived, but not in the direction that many expected. For the Bolzano prosecutor’s office, in fact, in light of the investigations, the autopsy and the findings made, there would be no trace of the presence of another person on the site where the lifeless body of Aaron Engl was found. Not only that: his death would be attributable to a «autonomous conduct» by the same. There is no doubt, however, that death was caused by the deep wound to the head caused by the chainsaw.

The investigators have reached these initial conclusions, which however do not close the case, but leave many avenues open.

Here is the full press release:

“The prosecutor’s office announces that, based on the investigations carried out so far and the autopsy, the death of Aaron Engl can be traced back to the head wound caused by the chainsaw found next to the body. However, there are no elements, also taking into account what was found and collected at the place of discovery, that can link the fact to the action of a third person. In fact, biological traces attributable only to the deceased person were found on the chainsaw.

It is therefore believed that Aaron Engl’s death is attributable to his own independent conduct.

However, the investigations are continuing and we are awaiting scientific tests by the Parma RIS on the car found at the scene of the incident.”
