The International Football Association and the European Union Football Association have taken joint action.
In the wake of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) has recommended to sports organizations that sports teams from Russia and its ally Belarus be banned from participating in all international sports.
The International Federation of Football Associations (IFAU) and the European Union (EU) have announced a temporary ban on Russian national and local football teams from participating in international football.
It will also be in effect until further notice.
