About 20,000 Indians, including about 500 Carnatic students, are stranded in Ukraine as a result of the Russian war. The federal government has begun work to rescue them. So far 37 Karnataka students have returned home. Students from neighboring countries including Ukraine, Poland and Romania are flown to Delhi and Mumbai.

From there, Karnataka students fly to Bangalore International Airport. The students were flown from Bangalore to their hometown by the state KSRTC. Its managing director Sivayogi Kalasath said the buses were allowed to travel.

Accordingly, among the students who were brought to Karnataka yesterday, Mohammad Shoaib and Pratik Nagaraj told reporters: –

We came to India

We are studying medicine at the Usorad National Medical University in western Ukraine. The attack did not take place in the area where we were. We showed our passports to neighboring Hungary. From there we came to India by plane. There were 5 buses parked there after crossing the border into Ukraine.

In it the Indians including us traveled and arrived at the airport. There is no war environment in the western part of Ukraine.

Thus said those students.
