The representative body of the Mór City Municipality discussed a number of proposals on the agenda.
A part of the Móri City Market and Market Hall is already visited by many people, but the old and recently renovated equestrian building is only now coming to life.
– The use of the city market and fair hall is not only for market purposes, but, as we had previously planned, we would like to develop it a bit into a city center with the help of other events. Of course, you don’t have to think about big events, but about smaller ones. For example, there will now be a national beer festival in the Youth House. In connection with these future events, we have regulated with the board the conditions under which and what else can be brought into the vicinity of the market, the market hall and the store. Our goal is to fill the space with life. Of course, cultural events will have priority, but space must also be given to events for young people, Péter Fenyves said.
We also learned from the mayor of the city that the representative body voted to grant support to sports associations, so the organizations involved will receive a total of HUF 11 million. But the board also approved the agreements related to the use of public space for the wine days, as well as the proposals related to the organization of fairs and gastronomic activities. The tasks related to the organization of the fair were given to the Móri TDM.
Urban development decisions were also made, as the Mór board decided that public lighting and the construction of the electrical system can begin in Virág and Jegenye streets. The importance of the development is increased by the fact that many people already live in the affected streets.
There is only one month left and the Móri Wine Days will begin.
– The first Móri Wine Days were held in Kereken, on September 16, 1934, so this year we are preparing for the big holiday with slightly different elements than usual. The board was also informed about this in the meeting room, said Péter Fenyves.
