Actress Rhea Chakraborty has spoken openly about her experience in jail. She was arrested by the NCB in a drug-related case. Speaking on Karishma Mehta’s podcast, Rhea said that every day she spent in jail felt like a year. She also said that it was a difficult time at that time. Rhea said, ‘Prison is actually a very different world because there is no society there. Everyone is the same. Everyone is a number, there is no human being. When you are in an under trial jail, you are a UT number… It’s a strange world because it’s just the most basic part of human emotions. It’s survival. You have to survive every day. And every day feels like a year. It takes a lot of time for a day to end because you are literally not doing anything. That time is stopped.’
Rhea Chakraborty’s condition in jail
She said, ‘In the first two weeks of my stay there, I found it very difficult to adjust to this situation, because no one ever believes that he has to go to jail. Once you reach there, it takes a lot of time to understand that this has happened. I started getting depressed there. There was complete darkness in front of me. I could not understand anything. … After staying there, you become completely negative. You start thinking about negative things. Whereas I have been a happy and positive person.’
