Bulgaria achieved a second victory at the European Water Polo Championship for juniors up to 19 years of age (group “D”, division 2), which is being held in Burgas. The “Tricolors” won dramatically with 13:12 (3:2, 4:3, 2:2, 4:5) against the Czech Republic and qualified for the playoffs.

The winning goal was scored by Alexander Kamenov just 33 seconds before the end of the fourth period of the match. Before that, the Bulgarians led by 8:5 and 9:6, and the last quarter started with two new goals for the young native nationals.

Samuil Ivanov scored the most for Bulgaria’s success with four goals, as well as Alexander Kamenov and Veselin Genchev, who distinguished themselves with three goals each in the goal of the Czechs.

On Tuesday, the Bulgarian team, led by Ivaylo Pachaliev and Nikolay Raikov, will face Romania at 19:30. The Romanians also have two wins in two matches and are moving forward in the tournament.

Bulgaria will play a play-off for participation in the quarter-finals against one of the teams that took the fourth place in one of the two groups of the first division.
