A few days before workers vote on the proposed 10.59% salary increase, the Independent Union of Volkswagen Automotive Industry Workers (Sitiavw), reported that as part of the pre-agreement, 200 formal contracts were achieved for workers eventual.
“Derived from the pre-agreement of the review salary y contractual 2024, we are pleased to inform you that 200 permanent contracts (plants) have been awarded to temporary staff, especially for colleagues who have remained with a fixed-term (temporary) contract for years,” the statement reads.
The information was released prior to the vote that will take place on August 30, in which the participation of nearly 7 thousand workers is expected to decide whether the 7% increase goes directly to salary and 3.59% in benefits.
The voting process will begin at 4 a.m. and will end at 6 p.m. next Friday at the assembly plant located on the Mexico-Puebla highwayin the auxiliary board of San Lorenzo Almecatla, in the municipality of Cuautlancingo.
The Union plans to install 20 tables for receiving votes, c can participate in the with work stoppages established so that workers on each shift can participate in the exercise.
