Rome: Italian goalkeeper Pierre Luigi Buffon’s contract has been extended for another two years. Buffon, 44, joined Italian club Parma last June. The second division club have signed the Parma player from 2023-24. Buffon won the UEFA Cup with Parma in 1999.

The team is ranked 13th in Serie B this season. Buffon has played in 23 of Parma’s 26 games. When Italy won the World Cup in 2006, Buffon guarded the team’s net. He has won numerous trophies with Italian club Juventus.

Parma, who had a poor showing last season, were relegated to the second division after being relegated to the lowest level in Serie A. The team has won just three of its 38 matches. The team lost 24 matches and drew 11 matches.
