The United Nations Support Mission in Libya announced that it will host separate talks at its headquarters in Tripoli between representatives of the House of Representatives and the High Council of State on the one hand, and the Presidential Council on the other hand, as part of its efforts to resolve the crisis of the Central Bank of Libya.

The mission stated, via its account on the “X” platform, that the consultations, which lasted from morning until late Monday night, were characterized by frankness, as the participants achieved important understandings regarding ways to resolve the crisis surrounding the Central Bank, and restore the confidence of Libyans and international partners in this vital institution.

At the end of the session, the representatives of the House of Representatives and the Supreme Council of State agreed to submit what they had agreed upon to the two councils for consultation, with consultations to be completed tomorrow with the aim of final signing of the agreement.

On August 27, the UN mission announced its intention to hold an emergency meeting attended by the parties concerned with the Central Bank of Libya crisis to reach a consensus based on political agreements and applicable laws, and on the principle of the independence of the Central Bank and ensuring the continuity of public service.
