PM Amadou Oury Bah welcomed the High Commissioner of the OMVS

The Commissioner General of the Organization for the Development of the River Senegal (OMVS), Mr. Mohamed Abdel Vetah, along with an important mission, was received in audience on Wednesday, August 28, by the Prime Minister of Guinea, Amadou Oury Bah , according to an official source.

The objective is to discuss the proper functioning of the OMVS, especially from the point of view of the security of the Member States, development and socio-economic integration, as well as the mobilization of funding for the various projects of the Organization.

When he left the audience, Mr. Mohamed Abdel Vetah spoke to the press in these terms: “I presented him with the progress of the Organization’s projects. Current projects but also projects for which we are in the fundraising phase. One of the Organization’s most important projects in the region is the Koukoutamba hydroelectric dam project. So we took note of the progress in mobilizing funding for these various projects. These are Koukoutamba, shipping, Gourbassi as well as other projects.” And he added: “The Prime Minister, the Head of Government, gave us guidelines to accelerate the mobilization of funding for these projects for the benefit of the populations of our region.”

On his Facebook page, PM Amadou Oury Bah spoke about the working session he had with the OMVS delegation, led by the High Commissioner. “As a prelude to the next summit of the OMVS, I received the High Commissioner of the organization. Mr. Mohamed Abdel Vetah, message bearer from the current President of the Conference of Heads of State to the President of the Republic of Guinea. In 2025, our country will strengthen its participation in this sub-regional organization, to give it a new impetus for the benefit of our populations,” he said.
