The Supreme Committee for Security Arrangements holds its second meeting

The Minister of Interior in charge of the Government of National Unity, Chairman of the Supreme Committee for Security Arrangements, Major General Imad Al-Tarabulsi, chaired the second meeting of the committee at the Ministry’s headquarters today, Monday, in the presence of all its members.

During the meeting, the work accomplished by the committee in the past few days was discussed, including receiving a number of headquarters, reviewing the obstacles and observations received from the field work committee, in addition to developing appropriate solutions for them.

During the meeting, the work plan for receiving the remaining headquarters was discussed, as well as the importance of concerted efforts to ensure the success of the work as required.

Al-Tarabulsi stressed the need to continue working in accordance with the Cabinet’s decision to receive all headquarters and buildings and hand them over to the relevant authorities, while assigning the relevant departments and agencies in the Ministry of Interior with security and protection tasks.

The head of the Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid Dabaiba, issued a decision to form a supreme committee for security arrangements, headed by the Minister of Interior, Imad Al-Tarabulsi, and consisting of 16 members.

According to the text of the resolution, the committee’s mission is to withdraw military formations and return them to their official headquarters, in addition to returning private headquarters seized by some formations to their original owners.

The committee’s tasks also include subjecting the ports (land, air and sea) as well as prisons, to full state control.

In his decision, Dabaiba asked the committee to submit a weekly report explaining the work accomplished within this mission.
