Revitalization Project Begins in Kallithea: Transforming Major Roads for a Safer and More Accessible Future

by time news

A new redevelopment project has begun in Kallithea.

Specifically, it concerns the redevelopment of the streets of Dimosthenous, Skra, and Doirani, and among other things, includes the following interventions:

✓ New modern LED lighting.
✓ Reconstruction of sidewalks.
✓ New asphalt paving.
✓ New plantings.
✓ New urban furniture (benches, etc.).
✓ Bicycle lane on Dimosthenous Street.

With this project, three of the city’s major road axes (Doirani-Dimosthenous-Skra) are transformed, making the neighborhoods they traverse safer, more beautiful, more modern, cooler in the summer, and more accessible for all ages.

At the same time, a major goal for Kallithea is being realized: to bring the Stavros Niarchos Cultural Center functionally closer to the rest of Kallithea’s neighborhoods, as pleasant and safe walking routes are now being created that connect large parts of Kallithea and the city center with the S.N. Cultural Center.

This project represents a vindication of years of efforts made by the municipality’s administration, from the initial design to its study and successful inclusion in the recovery fund, followed by a successful competitive process.

The “Kallithea is changing” faction will closely monitor the progress of this crucial project (budget of 8,422,000) with the aim of its timely and flawless completion, as it is an intervention of decisive importance for the future of the city.
