Dhaka University Finance Department Professor Farzana Lalarukh has been appointed as Commissioner of Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission. As a result, the commission of BSEC became complete.

This information was informed in a notification issued by the BSEC and BICM branches of the Financial Institutions Department of the Ministry of Finance on Tuesday (September 3).

According to the notification signed by Deputy Secretary Farida Yasmin, he has been appointed for four years as per the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission Act. His salary and other benefits will be determined as per the agreement executed with the government.

The notification also said that the order will be effective immediately.

Previously, on August 18, Khandkar Rashed Maksud was appointed as the chairman and on August 28, the former senior district and session judge. Ali Akbar has been appointed as Commissioner of BSEC.

It should be noted that after the fall of the government on August 5, BSEC chairman Professor Shibli Rubaiyat-ul-Islam resigned on August 10. 2 days later, on August 12, the commissioner resigned. Shamsuddin Ahmed and Dr. Rumana Islam. However, previously appointed ATM Tarikuzzaman and Mohammad Mohsin Chowdhury remained as commissioners.
