/ Sports newspapers revealed that the English club Liverpool is strongly nominated to acquire the services of Paris Saint-Germain star, Kylian Mbappe, who became a free player, starting from today, Monday.

The captain of the French national football team now has the option to sign with any club other than his team, Paris Saint-Germain, to wear its colors starting in the summer of 2024, after his contract ends at the end of the current season.

To tempt him, Real Madrid, his favourite club and likely destination for several years, or Liverpool, could wave their rich record on the continental level.

However, Goal.com, quoting Le Parisien, considered that Liverpool FC is the “most credible and dangerous candidate” to complete the transfer deal for Mbappe (25 years old).

French journalist Loic Tanzi confirmed that Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp has been interested in Mbappe since the latter was playing for Monaco, according to Talk Sport.

Mbappe has once again shown his technical importance with Paris Saint-Germain, scoring 16 goals in various competitions since the start of the season, far ahead of his closest attacking teammates.

But the wealthy club’s administrators have overcome the panic that struck them last summer, and have taken time to think about the team’s fate without the No. 7 player. They have confirmed that they will not rely on a single player, and they do not plan to bid on a huge annual salary of 72 million euros, according to the French newspaper “Le Parisien”, not counting the signing bonus, and they indicate that the separation frees up investment prospects in the Qatari-owned team.

Keeping the French star, after the departure of the Argentine Lionel Messi to the American League, and the Brazilian Neymar to Saudi Arabia, remains the best option if possible. To convince Mbappe, Saint-Germain is counting on a new project that began this summer, based on reducing the contracts with famous names in favor of building a team that relies on team play.
