CIt is an indictment that spans over 38 pages. American Justice make it public Tuesday of the lawsuits targeting six senior officials of the Islamist group Hamas, including Yahya Sinouar, considered the leader of the October 7 attack, for charges of “terrorism”.

Six leaders of Hamas, including its former political leader Ismaïl Haniyeh, were killed in Tehran on July 31 in an operation attributed to Israel, and his successor Yahya Sinouar, targeted by decrees issued on March 1 before the federal courts in New York. At the time, Yahya Sinouar was the head of Hamas in Gaza. Since then, in addition to Ismaïl Haniyeh, two other of these officials, including the head of the armed wing of Hamas, have been killed by Israeli forces in Gaza.

Six additional hostages executed

The prosecution targets “Yahya Sinouar and other senior Hamas officials for orchestrating the terrorist group’s campaign of violence and terror for several decades, including October 7,” US Attorney General Merrick said in a video statement. “In its attacks over the past three years, Hamas has killed and injured thousands of civilians, including dozens of Americans,” he said. “This weekend, we learned that Hamas has killed six additional hostages, including Hersh Goldberg-Polin, a 23-year-old Israeli-American,” Garland recalled.

“From the moment Hamas launched its horrific attack on October 7, the FBI worked to identify and prosecute those responsible for these heinous crimes,” US Federal Police Director Christopher Wray said in a statement. “The FBI has relentlessly investigated these attacks on civilians, including Americans, and will continue to do so,” he continued.
