The Nongshim Shin Ramyun Cup, the ‘Baduk Three Kingdoms’ tournament where Korea is aiming for its fifth consecutive win, is about to begin.

The 26th Nongshim Shin Ramyun Cup World Baduk Championship opening ceremony will be held on the 4th at the Baekdu Mountain Pureland Hot Spring Resort Hotel in Yanji City, Jilin Province, China. At the opening ceremony, the first players from each country will be announced, and a drawing will be held for the countries that will play the opening match.

After the opening ceremony, the first round of the main tournament will be held at the Baishan Shui Factory in Yanji, China. The first round of the main tournament will be held at 3 PM (Korean time) on the 5th. After that, four countries will play until the 8th.

After the first match, the second match will be held in Busan from November 30 to December 4, and the final winner will be decided in the third match held in Shanghai, China in February next year.

Korea, aiming for a fifth consecutive win, has formed a team with 9-dan Shin Jin-seo, the ‘final boss’, as well as 9-dan Shin Min-jun, 9-dan Kim Myeong-hun, and 9-dan Seol Hyeon-jun, who passed the domestic preliminaries in July, and 9-dan Park Jeong-hwan, who joined at the end as a wildcard.

China will be represented by Fan Tingyu 9-dan, who holds the tournament record for most consecutive wins with 7 consecutive wins, Li Xuanhao 9-dan, Ke Jie 9-dan, Ding Hao 9-dan, and Xie Erhao 9-dan. The prize money for the Nongshim Shin Ramyun Cup is 500 million won, and if a player wins three consecutive games in the main tournament, a winning streak prize of 10 million won is awarded (an additional 10 million won is paid for each additional win after three consecutive wins). The time limit is 1 hour for each player, with a 1-minute countdown timer.

On the 4th, the Nongshim Baeksusan Cup, the Senior Baduk Three Kingdoms, will also open at the same location.

The Nongshim Baeksusan Cup will have its first match at 11:00 AM on the 5th, and the first round will be held until the 10th. Unlike the Nongshim Shin Ramyun Cup, the Nongshim Baeksusan Cup World Senior Baduk Championship will be held in two rounds, with the final round to be held in February next year.

Korea, which won the inaugural tournament last year, will be represented by 9th Dan Yoo Chang-hyuk, 9th Dan Cho Hun-hyun, 9th Dan Seo Neung-wook, and 9th Dan Kim Jong-su.

The winning team of the Nongshim Baeksan Subae World Baduk Senior Championship will receive a prize of 180 million won.
