BOLZANO. Great building and road excitement, awaiting the start of the school year. A new nursery school in Druso Est, finished and delivered in time for the start of the school year. In the meantime, work has been and is being done to secure the cycle paths that lead to the schools. But work is also underway on renovations: nursery school on via Gaismair, Ada Negri middle school, new wing of Archimede middle school.
While waiting to start the construction site for the von Aufschnaiter middle school, which will have repercussions first and foremost on traffic, because, due to the school and district heating construction site, buses will be prevented from passing through via Da Vinci – they will be diverted to via Kolping – and the cycle path will be temporarily suspended.
The beautiful, long-awaited novelty of the new neighborhood where families have been settling for six years now, is in Druso Est. The dream of a bilingual nursery school faded, will open two sections, one Italian and one German. In the first, a native speaker teacher to start an experiment: vehicular English in play activities, lunch, workshops.
The acid green building is finished, the finishing touches are being put in these days. The only flaw: the ten-story Ipes building has not yet been built in front of it, and at the moment it is not known exactly when it will be built. The children risk finding themselves in front of a construction site for years, the second and last public building in the new district.
A little further on, in Viale Druso, work is being done on the renovation of the Ada Negri. According to the initial plans of the Municipality, the over two hundred students should have returned to their renovated institute starting this year, but that will not be the case. They will spend it in containers at Drusetto. Once the work on Viale Druso is finished, work will begin on Via Da Vinci for the renovation and partial demo-reconstruction of the von Aufschnaiter, with a double basement gym also available to outsiders. Before starting the work, the Municipality intends to create a cycle path from Theiner along the downhill stretch of Via Museo to then connect to the existing cycle path on Via Carisparmio.
Still on the subject, the Municipality has also built a new pedestrian and cycle path on Via Segantini, to prevent cyclists – students and parents – from riding the wrong way. The same is being done on Via Rovigo, for those coming from Via Gaismair and heading to the Foscolo, Torricelli and Manzoni schools. Unfortunately, the work will not be finished for two or three weeks, or rather, it will be concluded after school has already started. We hope instead that the roadworks on Via Fago, between Via Egger Lienz and Viale Principe Eugenio di Savoia, will be finished in time, where four days after the start of the school year – we are next to Rosmini and Toniolo high school – the asphalt is still missing.
Returning to the buildings, on the corner of Via Roen and Viale Duca d’Aosta, the new wing for theArchimede expansion. In theory, it was scheduled to open after the Sharm week of November, but it seems difficult to arrive on time. The exterior is unfinished, the windows are missing, the systems must be completed, then it will have to be painted, furnished, moved. Two months seems short. It is highly probable that we will move in after Christmas.
Finally, redevelopment works at thePanda nursery school of Assb in via Gaismair. “Small, quiet, very nice, but dated in the interiors”, explains Assb director Liliana Di Fede. The work should be completed during the autumn. Currently, the children are hosted at Sole in via Milano. “Little by little, it is our intention to renovate all the dated nurseries in the city”, she concludes.
