This edition, organized under the supervision of the Royal Moroccan Cycling Federation, will see the participation of 40 participants from Spain, Germany, Italy and Sweden, as well as teams from several Moroccan cities, particularly from the southern provinces of the Kingdom, the organizers said.
Participants in this 340 km challenge, which will kick off in the rural commune of Akhfenir, will pass through Tarfaya, Foum El Oued, Al Marsa and the city of Laayoune.
The Moroccan Sahara International Challenge aims to broaden the base of cycling practitioners and to bring more young people from the southern provinces to practice this sport.
This event also provides an opportunity to highlight the development projects carried out in the southern provinces of the Kingdom.
The challenge will be divided into four stages, the first of which will connect Akhfenir to Tarfaya on Thursday over 102 km, the second stage scheduled for Friday will connect Tarafaya to Foum El Oued over 110 km, while the third will take place on Saturday between Al Marsa and Laayoune (60 km round trip). The fourth and final stage will connect Laayoune to the commune of Dcheira on Sunday over a distance of 23 km.
