All the teams participating in next year’s women’s volleyball world championship in Thailand are clear.

The championship will be held from August 22 to September 7, with 32 teams participating for the first time. Bulgaria is among them.

The regulation stipulates that the teams will be divided into 8 groups of 4 teams. The top two from each stream advance to eliminations.

The current world champion Serbia qualified for the championship, as well as the top three teams from the last editions of the continental championships – China, Japan and Vietnam from Asia, Brazil, Argentina and Colombia from South America, the Dominican Republic, the USA and Canada from North America, Kenya, Egypt and Cameroon from Africa and Turkey, Holland and Italy from Europe.

The remaining quotas are distributed among the teams with the highest ranking in the world ranking after the end of the Olympics in Paris – Poland, Germany, Belgium, Czech Republic, Spain, Greece, Slovakia, Slovenia, Bulgaria, Ukraine, France, Sweden, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Cuba and host Thailand.

The Bulgarian national team is 20th in the ranking.
