As the military campaign on Jenin in the West Bank continues for the eighth consecutive day, Israeli forces launched a wide-scale arrest campaign that targeted dozens of Palestinians, amid the arrival of new military reinforcements to the city.

The Hebrew website Walla reported that “the Israeli army decided to extend its military operation in the city of Jenin and its camp in the West Bank, which it began 8 days ago.”

“Walla” said: “The fighting in the Jenin camp was supposed to end yesterday, but the Israeli army decided to continue the fighting, in accordance with the instructions of Defense Minister Yoav Galant.”

Regarding the latest developments in Tulkarm, “the occupation forces detonated explosive devices they found in Tulkarm camp, which caused a fire to break out,” and the Palestinian Red Crescent Society reported that 8 Palestinians were injured by suffocation as a result of a fire in Tulkarm camp.

In Nablus, “a young man was injured by live bullets and three other Palestinians were arrested at dawn on Wednesday when Israeli forces stormed several areas in the Nablus governorate. Israeli forces also stormed the eastern part of the city from the direction of the Awarta checkpoint and raided the Balata and Askar al-Qadeem camps, which led to clashes during which Israeli soldiers fired live bullets, gas bombs and sound bombs, which led to the injury of the young man in Askar al-Qadeem camp. According to information, “Israeli forces arrested a freed prisoner after raiding his home in the Rafidia area in Nablus.”

In Ramallah, “the Israeli army deployed snipers inside the Jalazone camp north of the city and arrested a young man from his home after it was raided by Israeli forces. In the city of Salfit, Israeli forces raided the village of Kafr Haris. In Hebron, Israeli forces closed the entrance to the Fawwar camp south of the city and arrested a Palestinian from his home. Israeli forces arrested 22 Palestinians during the large-scale raid on the town of Beit Surik northwest of Jerusalem.”

In a related context, an Israeli soldier was killed and 5 others were injured during the ongoing Israeli military campaign in Jenin in the West Bank.

The Israeli website Walla reported that “during the fighting, a fighter from Battalion 906 was killed and 5 others were slightly to moderately injured,” noting that “the Israeli army reinforced its forces in the West Bank with border guards, engineering vehicles, and special forces from the reserve.”

The Israeli army and the General Security Service (Shabak) announced in a joint statement last Wednesday the launch of a military operation in the cities of Jenin and Tulkarm in the West Bank. The number of Palestinians killed by Israeli army fire since the start of the Israeli military operation in the West Bank has reached 34, including 19 in Jenin, 8 in Tulkarm, 4 in Tubas, and 3 in Hebron, bringing the death toll in the West Bank since October 7 to 685 Palestinian dead.

On the other hand, in Gaza, the death toll in the Gaza Strip as a result of the Israeli attack on the Strip since October 7 has risen to at least 40,861 dead, and the total number of wounded has risen to 94,398.
