Top-tier rock band that won two Grammy Awards…suspended activities after vocalist’s death
Female vocalist Emily Armstrong recruited… Regular album to be released in November
World-renowned rock band ‘Linkin Park’ is visiting Korea for the first time in 13 years.
According to the record label Winner Music Korea and the concert planning company Live Nation Korea on the 6th, Linkin Park will be holding the ‘Linkin Park Korea Concert ‘From Zero World Tour’ at the Inspire Arena in Jung-gu, Incheon on the 28th.
Linkin Park has held solo concerts in Korea three times in 2003, 2007, and 2011. They resumed their world tour this year and Korea is the only Asian country they will be visiting.
Linkin Park concert tickets will be sold exclusively through the official ticket sales site, Interpark Ticket, starting at 10:00 AM on the 13th. Prior to this, fan club pre-sales will be held from 10:00 AM on the 11th to 9:59 AM on the 12th.
Formed in 1996, Linkin Park gained attention when they released their official debut album, Hybrid Theory, in 2000. They gained popularity with their hybrid rock that mixed various genres such as funk, rock, and hip-hop, and have sold over 100 million albums worldwide.
They have won two Grammy Awards, including the 2002 Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock Performance for “Crawling”, a single from their debut album, and the 2006 Grammy Award for Best Rap/Song Collaboration for “Numb”, a collaboration with rapper Jay-Z.
However, the group stopped its activities after vocalist Chester Bennington passed away in 2017. Since then, the members have been promoting individually and have released a 20th anniversary edition album, but some have predicted the possibility of their resumption.
Linkin Park released a countdown video on their official homepage last month, and officially announced the recruitment of new members and the resumption of activities on the 5th (local time). New vocalist Emily Armstrong worked as a co-vocalist for the band De La Sara. Drummer Colin Britton has experience working as a producer for American singer Illenium and Japanese band One O’Clock.
Along with the team reorganization, Ricken Park released a new song, ‘The Emptiness Machine’, for the first time in 7 years. Following the new song, they will release a full-length album, ‘FROM ZERO’, on November 15th.
