/ The US Central Command announced on Wednesday that it had shot down an anti-ship missile launched by the Houthis from Yemen towards the Red Sea.

The US command said in a statement that “an American destroyer in the region shot down the missile launched by the Houthis, and there were no reports of material or human losses.”

Yemeni sources reported yesterday, Tuesday, that the Houthis launched a number of reconnaissance drones towards the Gulf of Aden and the Arabian Sea, to monitor new naval targets to target them.

The launch of reconnaissance aircraft comes as the Houthis, along with Iranian experts, are preparing, according to sources, to transfer cruise and sea missiles to Al Bayda and Taiz to increase the pace of attacks in the Gulf of Aden and extend them to the Arabian Sea.

The attacks by the Iranian-backed Houthis have disrupted navigation in the vital Bab al-Mandab Strait, through which about 12 percent of global maritime trade passes.
