Baghdad – WAA
Our national football team will face its guest, the Omani national team, at seven o’clock this evening, Thursday, at Basra International Stadium, as part of the Asian qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.
The national team concluded its final preparations in Basra yesterday evening, Wednesday, by undergoing a training session on the grounds of Basra International Stadium in preparation for the upcoming confrontation. Our team realizes the importance of collecting the three points at the beginning of the challenge, in order to obtain the necessary moral boost before meeting the Kuwaiti Blues.
It is hoped that today’s match will witness a large turnout to support the Lions of Mesopotamia at the start of their qualifying journey for the 2026 World Cup, to constitute an incentive and moral motivation to win the match points.
The technical staff of our national team, led by the Spaniard Jesus Casas, is counting on the fans’ support and encouragement from the first minute, stressing the need to take into account the stages the team is going through, as there may be difficult moments, and the competitor may be better, and here comes the role of the fans in supporting and backing.
It is worth noting that our national team will wear a full white kit and the goalkeeper will wear yellow, while Oman will play in a red shirt and its goalkeeper will wear black.
