To the sounds of the Beatles’ “Magical Mystery Tour,” the first trailer was released welcoming to the big screen the best-selling video game of all time.
The highly anticipated film “A Minecraft Movie” from Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures was filmed in New Zealand under the direction of Jared Hess and edited by James Thomas.
It is a story written by Christopher Bowman and Hamble Palmer where creativity is not just fun, but also the key to survival.
The protagonists of the story
Starring Jason Momoa and Jack Black, alongside Emma Meyers, Danielle Brooks, Sebastian Eugene Hansen, and Jennifer Coolidge.
According to the official description, the film follows four unlikely heroes, “Garbage Man” Garrison (Momoa), Henry (Hansen), Natalie (Meyers), and Dawn (Brooks), as they grapple with ordinary problems when they are suddenly pulled through a mysterious portal into the Overworld: a strange, cubic land of wonders that thrives on imagination.
To return home, they must conquer this world (and protect it from Piglins and Zombies, as well), while embarking on a magical quest with an unexpected expert craftsman, Steve (Black).
Adventure until the end
Their adventure will challenge all five to be bold and reconnect with the traits that make each of them uniquely creative… the very skills they also need in the real world.

“A Minecraft Movie” is expected to hit theaters on April 4, 2025, according to Deadline.
