The best Bulgarian referee, Georgi Kabakov, once again earned the trust of the European Football Association (UEFA), from where they gave him a match in the League of Nations. The native of Plovdiv will be the head referee of the meeting from Group 4 of League B between Montenegro and Wales, which will be played on September 9 at 21:45 Bulgarian time at the stadium in Niksic.
Kabakov’s assistants will be Martin Margaritov and Diyan Valkov, and the fourth judge will be Nikola Popov. The judges who will be responsible for the video replay system (VAR) are also Bulgarian. The chief VAR-judge is Dragomir Draganov, and Vasimir El Khatib was appointed as his assistant.
The referee observer is Georgios Bikas from Greece, and the UEFA delegate is Adrian Kasha from Malta.
The meeting is the second for both teams. Hosts Montenegro fell 2-0 to Iceland last night, while Wales finished goalless against Turkey.
The match will be played at the stadium in Nikšić, because the pitch at “Pod Gorizom” in the capital Podgorica has not yet been restored, which turned out to be unusable for the match between Buduchnost and FC CSKA 1948 in the UEFA Conference League tournament.
