Historic moment for the San Marino national team which for the first time achieves a victory in official matches by beating Liechtenstein 1-0 on the first day of the Nations League. The team led by Cevoli replicates the only victory in San Marino’s history, also obtained against Liechtenstein, but in a friendly, on April 28, 2004. At that time, it was Andy Selva who decided the match, this time it was a very young player, 2005-born Nicko Sensoli, who plays for the San Marino Academy.
The historic goal came in the 53rd minute of a hard-fought match in which Liechtenstein, immediately after conceding the goal, tried by every means to at least reach a draw. San Marino’s defense was steadfast and managed to seal a result that will long remain in the memory of the fans of the Republic of Titan.
