Thanks to the actions of the Central Bank, the ruble has stabilized. At the same time, there will be no rejection of the dollar, said Anatoly Aksakov, head of the State Duma committee on the financial market.
“I think that the ruble has stabilized,” the deputy said in an interview with Duma TV.
Aksakov recalled that Russian President Vladimir Putin had signed on special economic measures in connection with the unfriendly actions of the West. In particular, it refers to additional restrictive measures related to the currency.
“All this added currency liquidity to the market, and the situation stabilized,” Anatoly Aksakov concluded. He also stressed that the dollar will not be banned in Russia, as it has the status of a world currency.
However, Russia’s disconnection from SWIFT, restrictions on working with the US currency will eventually undermine the weight of the dollar, it will be used less, Aksakov believes.
The parliamentarian also spoke about how the disconnection from SWIFT will affect Russians and companies.
“This will not have any impact on citizens, at least within domestic Russian borders,” the deputy said. “It’s not SWIFT that works here, but the national payment card system, and all payments go through it. Therefore, people within our country will not feel that there are some problems.”
He added that domestic companies that work for the domestic market will not feel any problems either. And in order to pay for import deliveries, or to receive currency for the delivered goods, you can use banks that have not fallen under sanctions and are not disconnected from SWIFT.
