Two-time world champion with USA and linked to football for three decades and fifteen years as a professional, Alex Morgan confirmed his retirement to play his last match with the team this Sunday San Diego Wave, within the NWSL of the women’s professional football.
Convinced of her decision, while confirming her second pregnancy, the 35-year-old player said she would leave the professional football proud of the successes she has achieved on and off the field. “I am very clear about this decision and I am happy to be able to tell the world this.”
“It’s been a long time since I thought about this decision but since the beginning of the 2024 season I knew it was going to be my last season. I gave everything to this sport and what I received in return is something that I never imagined”, he highlighted.
Proud of her daughter, Charlie, Morgan has indicated that he wants to become a footballer when he grows up, but he believes there is now a trend for the younger generation to want to pursue football as a way of life.Having been able to be part of that change makes me feel very proud.”
