From the Local Congress TribuneDeputy Brenda Ruiz Aguilar, member of the Parliamentary Group of Morenapointed out that gender parity is a principle that favors democratization in public administration, as it allows women to have the same opportunities to participate in it.public life and represent the interests of citizens.
“It is a fundamental principle that contributes to the democratization of public and political life in the capital, and to creating a more just city,” said the Morena legislator.
Ruiz Aguilar stressed that among the responsibilities that mayors have is to create a Gender Perspective Unit within its structure, in accordance with the provisions of Article 31 of the Organic Law of Mayors.
In addition, he explained that Article 20 of the same law determines that mayors must promote public policies with transversality and intersectionality gender in order to eradicate inequality, discrimination and violence against women.
