CAN-2025 qualifiers (2nd Day/Gr.B): The match against Lesotho, a good lesson for young players (Walid Regragui)
Agadir – National coach Walid Regragui said on Monday in Agadir that the match against Lesotho, counting for the 2nd day (group B) of the CAN Morocco 2025 qualifiers, was a good lesson for the young players and allowed them to experiment with new tactical schemes.
“This match was important to have a better visibility of the capacities of the bench to build certainties for the next deadlines,” he affirmed in the press conference after the match.
“In the first half, I expected more intensity, but we were a little slow to be able to capitalize,” he noted.
“This kind of match is positive, because it allowed us to discover Adam Aznou, which is a great satisfaction. I think we have won a future great player,” he continued.
He considered that the most important thing is that “the players went for the victory without losing motivation”, noting that the new players lined up knew how to learn the necessary lessons from this kind of confrontation.
Morocco, already qualified as host country, is placed in Group B alongside Gabon, Central African Republic and Lesotho.
The final phase of the CAN (Morocco-2025) will take place from December 21, 2025 to January 18, 2026.
