Ayelet Shaked on the words of the Ambassador of Ukraine: “It is worth sticking to the facts”

by time news

Ukraine’s ambassador to Israel, Yevgen Kornichuk, accused Israel of preventing his country’s citizens from entering its gates, but Interior Minister Ayelet Shaked replied that these were two passengers who had come from other countries.

During the press conference held this afternoon, Kornichuk said they were disappointed with the decision of the Population and Immigration Authority in Israel, which he claimed prevented some refugees from Ukraine from entering Israel yesterday. “We ask for mercy,” he said.

At noon, Minister Shaked replied in a tweet on Twitter, “It is worth sticking to the facts,” and said, “Since this morning, 97 travelers from various countries around the world have arrived in Israel with a Ukrainian passport, of which only 2 were refused.” She added that “one passenger came from Georgia with a borrowed identity and the other came from Poland for immigration purposes, both of whom returned to the country from which they arrived in accordance with international aviation rules.”
