The chemotherapy treatment that Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, had to undergo following a cancer diagnosis during a scheduled abdominal operation has ended. In a message published on social media, the wife of the heir to the British throne expressed how precious the news is to her: “As summer comes to an end, I cannot tell you the relief it is to have finally completed my chemotherapy treatment.”
Kate also elaborated on how challenging this phase has been: “The last nine months have been incredibly difficult for us as a family,” she wrote, reflecting that “life as we know it can change in an instant, and we had to find a way to navigate the stormy waters and the unknown path.”
The princess also acknowledged how “the cancer journey is complex, frightening, and unpredictable for everyone, especially for those closest to us,” admitting that the diagnosis, “with humility, also brings us face to face with our own vulnerabilities in a way we had never considered before,” concluding that the period served to make both her and her husband, William, grateful “for the simple yet important things in life that so many of us often take for granted.” She summarizes: “Simply to love and be loved.”
Although the chemotherapy treatments have come to an end, Kate informs that her “path to healing and full recovery is long.” Still, she feels confident that she can “return to work and take on more public commitments in the coming months,” not forgetting to express gratitude for the support from the public. “The kindness, empathy, and compassion from everyone have been truly remarkable.” And she leaves a message of hope for those going through a similar situation: “To all those continuing their own journey against cancer – I stand with you, side by side, hand in hand. From darkness, light can be born, so let that light shine.”

Kate Middleton reported being diagnosed with cancer in March, detailing that the oncological disease was discovered during the “scheduled abdominal surgery” she underwent in January. “The tests conducted after the operation revealed the presence of cancer. Therefore, my medical team advised me to undergo preventive chemotherapy, and I am now in the initial phase of that treatment,” she explained at the time, without specifying the type of cancer.
