Royal Canin Korea invests 250 billion won to expand factory
Royal Canin Korea announced on the 11th that Taiwan’s Minister of Agriculture, Chen Jun-chih, visited the Royal Canin factory in Gimje-si, Jeollabuk-do on the 6th.
The Ministry of Agriculture of Taiwan is a government department that formulates agricultural policies and manages agricultural production and distribution, and is also in charge of the pet-related industry in Taiwan. It is said that this visit to the Royal Canin factory was made as part of the development of the pet food industry in Taiwan. It is said that they visited the Royal Canin pet food production facility and shared opinions and know-how on pet food safety, etc.
Royal Canin Gimje Factory has been in full operation since 2018. It has continued to grow by setting new export records every year in line with the growth of the pet industry. In particular, the Gimje Factory has been built as a state-of-the-art facility that applies the exclusive technology and production process of Royal Canin, a global pet food company. It currently supplies feed products to major countries in the Asia-Pacific region, including Taiwan, Australia, New Zealand, and Japan.
Lee Su-ji, managing director of external cooperation at Royal Canin Korea, said, “The Gimje plant is operated as a facility that meets the highest quality and safety standards of the French headquarters,” and “As a pet food production base in the Asia-Pacific region, we will continue to expand exports in line with the growth of the pet industry.”
Taiwan’s Minister of Agriculture, Chen Jun-chih, said, “I visited the Gimje factory and saw that each stage of the process, from raw material selection and quality control to manufacturing, equipment, and packaging, is carried out according to strict regulations and standards.”
Royal Canin Korea has started construction to expand its Gimje plant this year by investing approximately 250 billion won to double the production of pet food products. It plans to continuously expand exports to become a true Asia-Pacific pet food production base and contribute to the local economy by hiring new employees.
