The Ukrainian government and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) have reached an agreement on the fifth revision of the aid program, opening the door to the payment of a new tranche of $1.1 billion.
This new tranche, which still needs to be ratified by the IMF’s board, will bring to $8.7 billion funds already disbursed to Ukraine out of a total of $15.6 billion under the program.

The latter is part of a major international aid plan totaling $122 billion, which was approved in March 2023 by all supporting countries Ukraine from the start of the Russian invasion in February 2022.
The Fund also believes that, despite the difficult conditions caused by the ongoing conflict, the Ukrainian government, thanks to external support, has managed to “maintain financial and macroeconomic stability”.
