A one-and-a-half-year-old child named Mira Sarkar was killed when she was hit by a battery-powered rickshaw while playing on the road in Kafrul Ibrahimpur Eidga Road area of the capital.
This incident happened on Tuesday (September 10) afternoon. Later, he was rescued and taken to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College (Dhamek) Hospital, where the doctor declared him dead at around 7 pm.
The deceased’s father Nayan said, I work in a garment factory. My daughter was playing in front of the house in the afternoon. At one point he goes out into the street. At that time, a battery-powered rickshaw hit him while speeding. He was seriously injured. Later he was rescued and brought to Dhaka Medical where the doctor declared him dead.
He also said that our village house is in Bamanachhara village of Ulipur police station in Kurigram district. Currently I live in a rented house in Ibrahimpur Eidka Road area. I had only one child.
Inspector Mo Farooq, in-charge of police camp of DMK Hospital, said that the body has been kept in the morgue of the hospital’s emergency department. The matter has been reported to the concerned police station.
