/ The management of Naft Al-Basra Club announced today, Monday, its approval of the resignation of coach Abdul Wahab Abu Al-Hail by mutual consent.
Alaa Nirooz, the manager of the Basra Oil team, told Agency: “The administration met this afternoon with coach Abu Al-Hail and agreed to his desire to resign, despite their insistence on him.”
He added, “Abu Al-Hail insisted on resigning and confirmed to the management that he did not succeed with the team, hoping that another coach will come who will succeed in leading Basra Oil football.”
He explained that “the administration decided to postpone naming the team’s coach, especially since the league will witness a 40-day suspension, and therefore the administration will take its time in choosing.”
He pointed out that “the team will face the police team next Friday in a strong match, and he assigned the assistants to lead the team, namely Osama Shiyal, Salem Newoz, and the Lebanese Saeed Iskandar.”
He stressed that “the team will attract new players in the winter transfers and will witness a positive change with the aim of returning the team to its normal position and achieving positive results in the Iraqi Premier League.”
Al-Wasat Oil tied with Al-Minaa in the eleventh round of the Iraqi Premier League 1-1, and ranked 14th with 11 points after the end of the 11th round.
