Ukraine has released prison-trained prisoners of war with the aim of fighting against Russia.
Russia’s attack on Ukraine has escalated for the seventh day in a row. Moreover, Russian forces are attacking and destroying numerous military targets in the country. Thus there is a tense situation. Also, the Ukrainian capital, Kiev, is under siege by Russian forces. Thus Ukraine is retaliating against Russian forces to defend themselves.
In order to increase the number of soldiers in this fierce battle, the Ukrainian government has ordered the release of prison-trained war criminals. It has thus declared that these criminals are to be used to fight against Russian forces. Although the decision was not easy, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Gelensky said the move was justified in view of the security situation in the city.
