Alert, burger fans. Five Guys will open a restaurant in Portugal in 2025

The executive director of the chain, John Eckbert, revealed that they are searching for the best location for their debut in our country.

Going to a Five Guys to eat a burger has become a tradition for many Portuguese who visit countries where the American chain has a presence. With more than 1,900 restaurants spread across the world, the favorite hamburger restaurant of Barack Obama continues to grow and is preparing to land in Portugal.

The company plans to open 50 locations in mainland Europe soon, revealed the executive director of Five Guys in Europe, John Eckbert, during an interview on the “The Pulse with Francine Lacqua” program on “Bloomberg” conducted in August.

When asked about the possibility of new openings, Eckbert did not hesitate to mention our country as a priority destination. “We will open in Portugal next year. We are considering Lisbon, as we always want to be in iconic locations; therefore, we are looking for the perfect location,” he explained, without providing further details about the brand’s debut in national territory.

Five Guys, founded in 1986 in Arlington, Virginia (USA), became famous after the former President of the USA, Barack Obama, revealed that it is his favorite burger joint.

The brand stands out for the quality of its burgers and milkshakes. Unlike chains like McDonald’s and Burger King, which offer predefined sandwich options, at Five Guys, the customer selects the ingredients and sauces according to their taste.
