Devotees of Vidya Vidya performed darshan at the Thanjavur Big Temple on the eve of Maha Shivaratri.
Maha Shivaratri festival was held at Shiva temples in Thanjavur district. Devotees in turn performed Vidya Vidya Sami darshan. Maha Shivaratri falls on Krishnapatsam Chaturthi in the month of February. 
On this occasion, four pujas were held at the Thanjavur Big Temple from evening to early morning on the eve of Shivaratri. Then Maha Deeparadhana was also shown. A large number of devotees attended the Sami darshan.
This was followed by a Bharatanatyam performance on behalf of the Pragan Natyanjali Foundation. More than a hundred Bharatanatyam artists performed Vidya Vidya at an event held in front of the Nandi Hall of the Tanjore Big Temple in association with organizations including the Southern Cultural Center and the Palace Devasthanam.
