The crisis intensifies at Cúcuta Deportivo. After losing 1-0 against Llaneros FC at the General Santander stadium on Wednesday afternoon, the red-and-black team decided to terminate the relationship with coach Álvaro Hernández.
The Antioquian coach only managed nine matches with a poor record of five losses, three victories, and one draw.
The performance of the strategist from Unión Magdalena was negative, with a 37% success rate. At the home of the border team, Hernández experienced three defeats in five matches.

“The club’s board of directors has decided to terminate the contract of Professor Álvaro Hernández,” the club stated in a statement, which also expresses gratitude and wishes success to the paisa.
Keeping the coach seemed unsustainable after a streak of poor results, including a humiliating 5-0 defeat against Bogotá FC, the bottom team in the tournament.
