Rajkot: Kerala fast bowler S Sreesanth will miss the remaining matches of the Ranji Trophy 2021-22. Sreesanth, who was injured during training, did not play in Kerala’s last match against Gujarat. On his return to Ranji, Sreesanth took two wickets in the first match against Meghalaya. The 39-year-old Sreesanth had informed the fans about the injury on social media. It is not clear when Sreesanth will be able to return to the field.
Kerala Express at Ranji
Kerala is on the cusp of winning the Ranji Trophy for the second time in a row. Kerala defeated Meghalaya in the first match. Kerala won the match by an innings and 166 runs at Rajkot. Meghalaya’s innings ended at 148 against Kerala’s 505 for nine in the first innings. Meghalaya, which was followed on, was out for 191. Basil Thampi, who took four wickets, smashed Meghalaya in the second innings. Eden Apple Tom and Jalaj Saxena took two wickets each. Debutant Eden took six wickets in the match.
In the second match, Kerala defeated Gujarat by a huge margin. Kerala beat Gujarat by eight wickets. Kerala won the toss and elected to bat. Rohan batted in ODI style. Rohan was unbeaten on 106 off just 87 balls. With this, Rohan became the first Kerala player to score three consecutive centuries. Tendulkar was dismissed for 62 off 76 balls. Sreesanth’s IPL ambition shattered
