The Athens Flying Week 2024, the largest airshow in the Balkans with over 500,000 devoted fans worldwide, returns once again for another exciting air weekend at the Tanagra airport, September 14 & 15. In the program “Weekend from 5,” organizer Panos Podimatas stated that more focus has been given to the static exhibition this year.
As highlighted by the organizer, Mr. Podimatas, the program includes participants from various countries and types of aircraft, making the event unique for aviation enthusiasts.
Visitors will have the opportunity to see up close the F-35 of the Italian Air Force, which is being showcased in Greece for the first time, as well as the American Cobra helicopter, which also makes its debut at the event.
An important part of the program includes the impressive flight displays. “We will see two French Rafales in spectacular air battles,” mentioned Mr. Podimatas, while on the Greek side, the Air Force will participate with the renowned “Zeus” squadron, which has distinguished itself internationally. Equally impressive will be the performances of the “Saudi Hawks” from Saudi Arabia and the “Petroulakis” from Spain.
“It’s an event that meets the needs of the whole family,” he notes, emphasizing that ticket prices are affordable – 15 euros for adults and 7.5 euros for children. The gates open at 9 am, with the main program starting at 11.
The aviation event focuses not only on military aircraft but also on civilian ones. “Visitors will be impressed by the displays and the aircraft they will have the chance to see. It is an annual appointment that no one should miss,” concludes Mr. Podimatas, encouraging the public to attend.
Air clubs will also be present at the event, where even those at older ages can start flight lessons.
