Hong Kong’s famous actor and singer Andy Lau almost fell when a stage trapdoor suddenly opened during a concert in Shenzhen, southern China, Hong Kong’s South China Morning Post (SCMP) reported on the 14th.
Andy Lau, 62 years old this year, is an actor and Cantonese pop master who also has many fans in Korea.
He almost fell when a trap door on stage suddenly opened during a concert in Shenzhen on September 9.
He barely managed to avoid falling by bracing himself with his elbows and feet when he almost fell into the trapdoor.
Afterwards, he laid down on stage and playfully kicked his legs to maintain his composure, much to the relief of his fans.
He reportedly injured his finger in the accident.
The scene was filmed by the audience and uploaded to social media, where it quickly spread. One fan expressed concern on Weibo (China’s Twitter), saying, “He is so focused on the performance that he forgets his own safety.”
Another fan criticized the management, saying, “The trapdoor opened when it shouldn’t have. He probably didn’t see it in the dark stage.”
This is not the first accident. Andy Lau has recently been on a concert tour in mainland China. He almost fell off the stage at the Shanghai concert on July 5 and the Beijing concert at the end of July.
He embarked on his first mainland concert tour in 10 years, performing 36 concerts in eight cities across China, the last being Shenzhen.
His next concert will be held in Macau on October 3, SCMP reported.
