New Beginnings: Volkshochschule Zwettl Unveils Expanded Ballet Program and Stylish New Venue

by time news

The recently released course program for autumn/winter 2024/25 features 112 courses and 50 speakers. And: With a completely redesigned, very attractive website! Additionally, around 60 ballet students are excited about a new, appealing classroom.

For 20 years, the adult education center in Zwettl has offered ballet courses. For a long time, the courses were hosted in the spacious gym of the BHAK. Now there is a new location that better meets the requirements of contemporary ballet instruction: the movement space at FRAU iDA.

Ballet instructor Naďa Kabelová is very pleased with the new facilities: “The bright hall with a wooden floor is very suitable for training. The large mirror wall is ideal, allowing us to observe and check our movements, thus enhancing our enjoyment of dancing.”

Dance is the hidden language of the soul

Naďa Kabelová has been leading the Zwettl ballet groups since 2016. She has been dancing since the age of 6 and was a solo dancer at the South Bohemian Theater for twelve years after studying at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague. “Ballet strengthens all muscle groups, promotes correct posture, and helps to improve self-confidence and assertiveness,” the instructor is convinced.

Host Anne Blauensteiner is also happy about the new visitors: “I am very pleased with the good cooperation with the VHS Zwettl. From the beginning, courses from the VHS have been continuously held at Frau Ida. Since the ballet classes are now taking place in the city center, parents can also do their shopping or plan a visit to a café during waiting times.”

Education councilor Gisela Eigl also expresses her delight about the collaboration: “Business meets education thanks to Frau Ida and the VHS Zwettl!”

Ballet lessons for all ages, even without prior knowledge

The VHS offers ballet for children aged 5 to 13 as well as for teenagers and adults, even without prior knowledge. “No matter how old you are – everyone who enjoys movement is warmly welcome!” invites Naďa Kabelová. The first class takes place on September 27. All information & registration: www.vhszwettl.at

New website featuring 112 courses

In recent months, a completely new website was developed in collaboration with web developer Fabian Todt from Zwettl, featuring a logically structured, simple, and attractive presentation. Visitors can discover and book new, surprising, and proven offerings with just a few clicks at www.vhszwettl.at.

Mayor Franz Mold is pleased with the wide-ranging program presented in a new design: “The redesigned internet presence, supported financially by the municipality, absolutely aligns with the current zeitgeist with its fresh look!” Education councilor Gisela Eigl is proud that the VHS’s offerings have more than tripled in recent years.

“Our offerings include courses from various fields, with which we accompany people from newborns to the elderly on their further education path,” explains VHS director Franz Fischer, adding: “Especially in the family & children segment, the VHS can score with over 40 course offerings in the coming months!” For teenagers, the new English course to prepare for the Matura or entry into working life is a valuable addition.

On the Facebook page “Volkshochschule Zwettl,” insights into the courses can be gained, the course instructors can be met, and much inspiration can be found. Anyone who would like to receive the printed program free of charge by mail can request it via email at [email protected] or by calling 02822/503-187.
