Former President Moon and First Lady Kim Jung-sook send greetings on Facebook
“These are difficult and tiring days… I hope you have a bountiful Chuseok.”
Former President Moon Jae-in said on the 14th, at the start of the Chuseok holiday, “We are facing a difficult financial situation, and now we are experiencing a medical crisis,” and “I hope that everyone stays safe and healthy.”
Former President Moon posted Chuseok greetings in his own name and that of First Lady Kim Jung-sook on Facebook that day.
Former President Moon said, “We are celebrating Chuseok amidst an unprecedented heat wave,” adding, “The endless heat, difficult living conditions, and the medical crisis are making it difficult and tiring to endure these days.”
He said, “I hope everyone stays strong and has a peaceful and bountiful Chuseok holiday,” adding, “Hope is always with us. The heat wave cannot stop autumn, and the ripening fields will be filled with golden abundance.”
Former President Moon emphasized, “Health is the most important thing,” and “I hope everyone stays safe and healthy.”
The Jeonju District Prosecutors’ Office’s 3rd Criminal Division (Chief Prosecutor Han Yeon-gyu) is investigating allegations that former President Moon’s son-in-law, Mr. Seo, received preferential treatment in hiring at an airline.
On the 30th of last month, the prosecution designated former President Moon as a suspect while searching and seizing the residence of former President Moon’s daughter, Da-hye. There is speculation in the legal community that the prosecution may summon former President Moon after the Chuseok holiday.
