The official ceremony of this religious event took place in the presence of members of the Senegalese government, Tijan delegations from various foreign countries, representatives of the Diplomatic Corps accredited to Dakar, as well as thousands of faithful from different regions of Senegal and the Diaspora.
On this occasion, the General Caliph of Tidianes, Serigne Babacar Sy Mansour, stressed the urgent need to reinstate good values in Senegalese society and to draw inspiration from the prophetic model of peace, unity and justice.
While stressing the urgency of following the Sunnah and adopting the noble characters of the Prophet, in order to build a more just society that respects Islamic values, the Caliph drew attention to certain scourges that undermine today’s society and called at the same time for a return to the teachings of the Prophet Sidna Mohamed.
For his part, Badr Mouhi-Idin, member of the Moroccan delegation, president of the local council of ulama of Salé, included the participation of the Moroccan delegation in this religious event celebrating the birth of the prophet Sidna Mohamed in the framework of the strong, solid and historically rooted relations linking the two brotherly countries.
The Kingdom of Morocco, under the enlightened leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, is sparing no effort to further develop the exemplary relations between the two countries, he noted, recalling in this context the numerous royal visits made to Senegal.
The president of the local council of ulama of Salé also recalled that the Mohammed VI Foundation of African Ulema counts among its members eminent Senegalese scholars, in addition to its mission of training Senegalese imams and morchidines.
