jpnn.comPEKANBARU – Dozens of banners of the prospective mayoral candidate for Pekanbaru, Agung Nugroho, were damaged by unknown persons (OTK), the police were asked to take action so that the situation does not escalate.

Syahrul, Head of the Agung Nugroho Advocacy Team, said that his party received information from volunteers that many banners had been damaged by unknown persons.

The vandalism is alleged to have occurred on Friday, September 13, 2024 evening, around Jalan Sudirman and the Rumbai area.

“Yes, that’s right, initially we got information from volunteer Agung Nugroho. After we checked, it turned out that there were 20 to 30 banners that were damaged, such as torn, knocked down by unknown persons,” Syahrul told JPNN.com Saturday (14/9).

With this incident, Syahrul asked law enforcement officers, or the police, to take immediate action.

“We hope that law enforcement officers will act immediately so that the situation remains conducive. We want this Pilkada to be safe, peaceful, no one should cause damage like this,” continued Syahrul.

Because according to Syahrul, actions like this will create a heated political climate in Pekanbaru City.

“Law enforcers should act immediately. We are sure that all Candidates want peace and safety during the Pilkada. I am sure that no one wants this. This is just an individual. Therefore, the police should immediately investigate the individual who provoked like this,” he said.
